Strangest dream
I dream very, very vividly in color and surround sound thanks to better living through chemistry.

Last night, it was a doozy. Otherwise I would not be writing at 9:30 am on a Sunday morning without coffee yet. I want to write what I remember.

I'm standing on the top of a mountain. The top is flat, like someone just sliced off the top. I'm near the edge, which is behind me.
There is a town there, it's busy, no cars though, more like a village I suppose. The people are walking around shopping, eating outside, dressed in contemporary clothing.

There are so many minut details I can't remember as the dream is fading fast. Wish I were able to hook my brain up to a DVD recorder!!!

Ok, something distracts me and I turn around, there is someone standing facing me, very, very close to the edge of the cliff. (I'm afraid of heights and felt the fear)

My stomach was clenched in a tight ball. I told them they were going to fall. I know they said and leaned back, arms out stretched! like that alien scene when Ridley falls into the molten metal. I jumped forward and caught an ankle, their body weight pulled me halfway over the edge but behind me, faceless people were holding my legs, tight, I felt secure.

I looked down, it was gray and smooth everywhere like a cement wall, but it was like a canyon, vast in every direction and so far down you could not see a bottom. Dizzy, nauseous.

I looked at the person who Jumped? Fell? and they were clinging onto the side of the mountain, which was made of gray bricks with two holes each. everywhere along the side, standard size bricks, grey with two holes.

I remember physical sensations of pulling, holding, breathing hard. Still holding the ankle. a rope flew over me to the person. the person refused to grab the rope and said they could do it alone. The person, faceless, used the holds in the bricks like rock wall climbing, the person had no shoes on. Jeans and a red? tshirt I think. they twisted themselves a little and told me to let go. I said no. the person said I can't climb if your holding me. I said get a good grip with your hands first. The person inserted their fingers into the brick holes, almost like putting your fingers in a glove, all fingers stretched to reach a hole. The person did the same thing with their dangling leg.

I'm still half over the edge trying not to look down. I remember feeling the people behind me would not let go.

I asked the person if they had a good grip. The person said yes, you have to let go. So I did. The leg I was holding twisted toward the wall and the person put their toes in and began climbing up.

I was pulled back and I stood up, afraid, very afraid of getting close to the edge, to look over to see if the person had fallen, then I see a hand bloody and scraped come over the edge, then another, I and I think some others grabbed the persons arms and pulled them up.

I remember feeling breathless and mad, almost like the mad that I feel when one of my children have done something very wrong. A feel a sense I want to scream at the person standing in front of me.

I tell the person you could have died. The person says I know and takes a step back. I said come here and let me see your hands. The person says they are fine and steps back again. I feel fear.

The person is now standing with part of the heels of their foot off the edge. I yell your going to fall again! the person says I know, it's ok, it doesn't matter. they lean back a bit. I say it does to me and in extreme slow motion, the person is leaning, leaning back. Their toes begin to point to the the sky, I can see space between the sole of their foot and the edge, I am moving forward my arms extended, as I go in slow motion forward, the person goes slow movement backward

suddenly, I am close and my arms stretch and grab the persons wrists and I pull them hard I mean a really hard and heavy jerk and we both fall my back hits the ground and the person falls on top of me, pushing the air out of my lungs. lying there I say it matters to me.

the person pushes themselves up looks at their hands, dusts themselves off, looks down at their feet then up to me and says I know it does.

I'm awake, suddenly. Realizing that when the person said I know it does I saw their face....and it was me.
