Putting
your story into words can be a frightning and daunting task. It is a huge
step and one that should not be taken lightly wether you are submitting
it or not.
You may consider speaking with your therapist or physcian before you take
this step. This is not professional medical advise. Merely ideas.
Here are some suggestions that may help you if you are ready.
Write
about how your addiction started. Gradual? Overnight? A triggering event?
Write
about life experiences that may have fueled your addiction
Write
about family history of addiction or mental illness
Write
about your use, patterns if any, behaviors
Write
about recovery, recovery attempts, relapse, success
Write
about how your experience effected you physically, mentally, spiritually
Write
about the impact on your family
Write
about legal experiences
Write
about dreams, hopes, wishes
Write
about traumas
Write
about turning points
Write
about what you like about yourself, what you don't like about yourself
Write
about what you want out of life
Write
why you think your story may help just one woman or many
Write
about the people in your life that believed in you or turned away
Write
freely and don't worry about style, rules, language.........there is no
grade in life
Writting
your story may trigger certain things for
you. Speaking with your physcian or support group should be considered
before proceeding.
These
are just some suggestions that may help you to put your story into words
and are NOT guidelines.
It
is your story and yours alone. No matter how many may share experiences,
this story belongs to you
